All seriousness joking aside, Bethesda have finally announced that their Creation Kit for Skyrim is almost ready! Yay!

In an announcement made over on Bethesda’s blog, the Creation Kit may be just around the corner. Originally scheduled for release in January, the Creation Kit has been subject to delay as Bethesda fixate on perfecting the tools for every-day use by us mere mortals. However, as the below video shows, the team feel pretty confident with what they’ve got.

With the new kit, a whole new world will be opened up for the community as more and more people can easily create new weapons, NPCs, mobs, and even all-new adventures & quests.

When released, it will be a massive boost to the Skyrim userbase. 10 years after its initial release, mods for Morrowind are still being released and downloaded, proving that if you create a game as open ended as the Elder Scrolls series and put it in the hands of the gamers, it will blossom in to its very own thing.

Not only will Bethesda be releasing the Creation Kit, but they will also open the Skyrim Workshop – a section on Steam specifically dedicated to uploading mods for all the world to get their hands on.

I sure as hell know I’ll be turning my hand to the Creation Kit as soon as it sees the light of day!
